In 2020 AD, or 0004 AP (After Pentacle), whichever you chose to acknowledge, Dinky finds himself in a precarious situation. Baby Girl, his wife of thirty-eight years, needs to maintain the prescription medication that keeps her long-term illness at bay. There is no more to be found in or around the small town of Barkston.
Since the Pentacle Virus pandemic of 2016, the world’s human population is ten percent of what it was pre-Pentacle and what erupted from the chaos was a society bordering on insanity. No government, no public services, no utilities, no laws and no church.
Dinky, his dog Blue, and an old shotgun named Beulah set out on a trek to the town of Anson, thirty-five miles away in search of a pharmacy that has survived the new society. His travel is sometimes treacherous and sometimes joyful, but always with the obligation to provide for his beloved Baby Girl.
